Edith is a child survivor of the Holocaust. As a former educator, she considers it important to share her experiences. Edith maintains that all who have gone through this trauma, depending on their age, characteristics and gender, respond differently. In this session, Edith will speak about the effect that her experiences during and after the Holocaust had on her life and the life of her husband, children and the rest of her family.

Edith Kimelman

Edith Kimelman was born in Rowno, Poland, now part of Ukraine. In 1941 during the German invasion, she was a 6 1/2 year old child living in a small community with her parents and grandmother. The Shoah had an immediate impact on Edith’s family as her 31 year old father was murdered by the Nazis.
