The Canadian Jewish Story in Four Biographies: From Ezekiel Hart to Rabbi Kahanovitch to Leonard Cohen to Judy Feld Carr

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Canada's Jews sometimes feel as though they have no history in this young country, but our roots stretch back to the Hart family who settled in Quebec at the end of the 18th century. In this short lecture on Canadian Jewish history, I will discuss the lives of four great Canadian Jews: Ezekiel Hart, Rabbi Yisroel Kahanovitch, Leonard Cohen and Judy Feld Carr. These four individuals fought battles for civil rights, religious continuity, artistic integrity and freedom. I hope to show how Canadian freedoms and Jewish energy changed the world.
